The schematic below illustrates high-level architecture and data flows that meet the following criteria:

• On a national scale (spanning all NHS regions);
• Occur electronically (data is managed electronically and systematically collected via API);
• Managed systematically (the same documented process is reproduced across all extractions and transfers).

Databases are linked to external information webpages. Each category of data flows below can be toggled on the left of the schematic. Best viewed in desktop/laptop web browser, and by pressing the ‘Fullscreen’ button in the toolbar. The diagram may take up to 10 seconds to load.
